The Role:  Process Engineering Manager

The Company

HireBetter has been retained to identify a Process Engineering Manager for an expanding manufacturer experiencing double-digit growth.  Our client is a third-party manufacturer and produces game-changing products in the beauty industry. As a mission-driven organization, you will be involved in producing high-end, high quality products in a state-of-the-art, sustainable facility.

The Role

The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for developing manufacturing processes by studying the product requirements, researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.


  • Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria such as efficiency and speed and perform risks assessments
  • Assess, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception to start-up and certification
  • Gather, organize and set-up detailed listing of critical process parameters for new projects coming in the facility in comparison with existing know-how
  • Test, run and upgrade processes
  • Train staff in existing and new processes
  • Acquire the technical skill and expertise to set-up manufacturing equipment, train others, trouble shoot and fix equipment with maintenance team
  • Support the engineering team during planning, design, development, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting processes and new equipment
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines and machine operations
  • Prepare and organize manufacturing workflows and resources with production manager
  • Analyzing existing systems and operations and developing preventative maintenance strategies
  • Review and adapt process documentation and operating instructions to support supervisors and workers
  • Resolve issues and delays in production
  • Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
  • Participate in OEE meetings and identify/lead projects to drive OEE improvement
  • Work with quality department to resolve finished good non-conformances and identify corrective actions
  • Participate in production tools investment planning and installation
  • Work closely with solution manufacturing for planning, processes, and scheduling


  • Bachelors degree preferably in engineering
  • At least three years of experience in a similar engineering/process development role within the cosmetic manufacturing industry
  • Cosmetic manufacturing industry experience must include materials forming, solutions compounding in batch mixers, filling and capping on production filling lines
  • Machines set-up, process cards and process change control experience
  • Knowledge of CGMP, OTC and ISO 22716 standards
  • Understand and problem solve Algebraic math and equations
  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems and achieve results
  • Root cause analysis and Corrective Action implementation
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to build and foster strong cross-functional relationships
