HireBetter’s client is an Information Technology Consulting firm exclusively serving the healthcare industry. They have extensive experience working with their clients to develop and implement systems, plans and strategies for their Healthcare Information System (HIS) solutions.

The Role

The Executive Vice President will have strategic and operational management responsibility for the following areas:

  • Sales and Business Development

Overall, as the EVP of Sales and Business Development, your role is to drive revenue growth, build strong customer relationships, and enhance the company’s brand and market position through effective sales and business development strategies. Execution of the responsibilities below will advance the organization’s mission and objectives and promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization.

The EVP reports to the CEO.


  • Developing Sales and Business development Strategy: You’ll be responsible for formulating comprehensive sales and business development strategies aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying target customers, and establishing effective positioning and messaging.
  • Team Management: As the EVP, you’ll lead and manage the sales and business development teams, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to achieve their performance targets. This includes hiring and training staff, setting performance goals, and evaluating team performance regularly.
  • Sales Performance and Revenue Growth: You’ll be accountable for driving sales performance and achieving sales targets. This involves implementing effective sales techniques, establishing sales processes, and monitoring key sales metrics. You’ll collaborate closely with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies, track progress, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Staying informed about market trends, customer needs, and competitors’ activities is crucial. You’ll conduct market research, analyze customer insights, and monitor industry developments to identify opportunities for growth and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaboration and Communication: As the EVP, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, operations, and finance, to align sales and business development efforts with overall business objectives. Effective communication with executives, stakeholders, and external partners is essential.
  • Performance Reporting: You’ll be responsible for tracking and reporting on sales and business development performance, including key metrics, forecasts, and ROI. Regularly analyzing data and providing insights will help identify areas for improvement and inform future strategies.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: You’ll develop and manage the sales and business development budgets, allocating resources appropriately to achieve desired outcomes while ensuring cost-effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Other duties as required to meet the goals of the organization.


  • Previous strong, demonstrable sales team management and business development experience
  • Established network of C-level and IT management contacts within healthcare system/hospital accounts
  • Senior-level person, management presence
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate and interact with clients at all levels and to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Broad and current healthcare industry knowledge
  • Organized, must be able to multi-task
  • Entrepreneurial
  • Ability to work in a team environment, “team player”
  • Possess a level of formal and professional education commensurate with the demands of the position
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools and other contemporary technologies
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel
