The Role

The Sr. Corporate Accountant position provides accounting support for subsidiary locations and corporate finance. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and how they apply within the workflows of the company’s systems. The Sr. Corporate Accountant must be able to resolve issues relating to proper accounting application, revenue recognition, internal controls, system troubleshooting, and process improvements. As a member of Corporate Finance, this position will have significant interaction with many levels of the organization and holds a key role in responding to and aiding subsidiary locations with accounting questions, processes and daily challenges. The Sr. Corporate Accountant role will be assigned ad hoc projects and requests as needed and must possess the ability to successfully prioritize the completion of multiple tasks in a timely manner.


  • Analyze/understand key business/financial information and communicate key results. Review for proper accounting treatment, identify and execute on opportunities for improved processes/results.
  • Accounting support for corporate finance and subsidiary locations including accounting practices, proper GAAP accounting, internal controls, process improvement, revenue recognition, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare assigned reconciliations to ensure all balances are supportable and conform to GAAP accounting.
  • Assist with maintaining fixed asset ledger and associated accounting.
  • Assist with developing and implementing accounting processes.
  • Partner with other members of team to perform internal audits.
  • Primary Accounting contact for Commercial Insurance requests.
  • Responsible for daily cash reporting.
  • Primary accountant responsible for payroll journals for all the company’s locations.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for accounting policy and regulations and roll out reconciliation procedures. Ensure compliance after launch.
  • Ensure processes are followed & proper individuals have a solid understanding of system drivers, to produce accurate financial data.
  • Assist with annual financial and insurance audits. Answer questions, review processes & gather required data for auditors. Ensure procedures/controls are in place & working appropriately to safeguard company’s assets.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Public Accounting Experience (preferred).
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accrual based accounting, accounting operations, audit management and internal controls.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office).
  • Ability to work with all levels in the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • General organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Works well in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Advanced use of MS applications including Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Effectively work within a team environment, self-starter and can independently work with little supervision.
  • Being proactively self-aware of the daily business activities.
  • Effectively adapt to the ever-changing environment
  • Presenting a positive attitude to both customers, peers, and management.
