The Role: Director, Early Learning and Literacy
Location: Remote – Florida

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Director of Early Learning and Literacy to join our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading early learning and K-5 efforts, including relationship and awareness building, growing the Business Alliance for Early Learning (BAEL) Advisory Board, coordinating travel and speakers for events, and providing updates on early learning policy and data. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve the talent pillar objectives outlined in our client’s 2030 Blueprint.


  1. Relationship Building:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential Business Alliance for Early Learning Board members, grantors, funding agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to foster partnerships, enhance the organization’s reputation, and explore collaborative funding opportunities.
  • Maintain organized records of correspondence with stakeholders and other relevant documentation in our client’s Customer Relations Management (CRM) system.
  • Coordinate BAEL Advisory Board meetings (in-person and virtual) and dinners.


  1. Business Alliance for Early Learning (BAEL) Outreach Coordination:
  • Coordinate speakers for the company’s events, podcasts, webinars, and other outreach activities.
  • Coordinate travel for BAEL speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate/assist with BAEL social media posts and awareness building.
  • Collaborate with FL Chamber Policy and Marketing teams to stay updated on key policies and promote BAEL through various channels.


  1. Business Alliance for Early Learning (BAEL) Content Development:
  • Assist with slide deck development for events, webinars, and outreach engagements.
  • Draft communication to BAEL Advisory Board members, workforce, and education partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, finance, and initiative leaders to gather necessary information for slide decks and memos.


  1. Continuous Improvement and Other Duties:
  • Seek out professional development activities to stay informed about best practices in the field.
  • Stay updated on early learning and K-12 policy at the state and national level.
  • Assist VP of Talent Development for the Future of Work with talent pillar efforts as needed.


  • Postsecondary degree or training in a relevant field, or work experience demonstrating the ability to positively contribute to our client’s team.
  • Prior experience in early learning, K-12, education policy, workforce development, or related experience.
  • Prior non-profit experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of fundraising and donor engagement
  • Strong written communication skills (emails, memos, social media posts, proofreading).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • A high level of self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
  • Passion for the organization’s mission and a deep commitment to advancing the company’s 2030 Blueprint.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced work environment.
