The Role: Senior Project Manager (General Contracting)
Location: Capitol Heights, MD

We are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team, specifically focused on the general contracting side of our business.

The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing a diverse range of construction projects, varying in scale and complexity. From conception to completion, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in managing projects cradle to grave, coupled with your proficiency in utilizing web-based construction project management software, will be essential in driving success.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are clearly defined and achieved.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and delays.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a strong focus on quality control throughout all project phases, conducting regular inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, direction, and support to project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generate accurate progress reports, documentation, and project updates for stakeholders, keeping them informed of project status, milestones, and potential issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and best practices implementation to enhance project efficiency and overall organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, with a focus on general contracting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects cradle to grave, from conceptualization to closeout.
  • Proficiency in utilizing web-based construction project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, BuilderTREND).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
