Specializing in utility work with aspirations to expand into Data Center construction, our client’s team is poised for significant growth. Based in the Washington D.C. area, they are a key player in the construction industry with a strategic vision for national expansion and innovation.

The Role

As the Vice President of Operations, you will be the right hand to the leadership, acting as a critical pillar in driving the company towards its growth objectives. This role offers the unique opportunity to not only oversee the current operations but also to spearhead the expansion into new markets, particularly Data Centers. Your expertise in project management, coupled with a robust background in construction engineering or architecture, will enable you to lead our client’s dynamic team, manage multiple high-stakes projects, and inspire excellence throughout the operations.


  • Develop and implement strategic operational policies and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead, manage, and oversee all aspects of operations, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time.
  • Spearhead the expansion into the Data Center market, leveraging industry contacts and expertise.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align operational activities with overall company goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing new technologies and processes to enhance operations.
  • Oversee financial aspects of operations, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor management-level staff, ensuring a high-performing operations team.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to broader strategic planning and company direction.


  • Extensive experience in project management within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to both utility and Data Center projects
  • Degree in Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of managing and inspiring teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to oversee multiple projects and areas of operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with team members, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel between offices in Bethesda and Capitol Heights, Maryland, as required.
