The Role

The Director of Lead Generation is responsible for the overall strategy and day-to-day management of the companys digital properties and partners, and implementation and management of programs to generate and nurture leads via events, SEM, email, retargeting, targeted social advertising. Our client needs someone to come in and optimize what exists, implement what doesnt and analyze all along the way. Working directly with the CMO, your responsibilities will range from designing, implementing, and managing media campaigns to creating, executing, and analyzing ad strategies, all with the intention of aligning those strategies to build brand awareness and drive leads.


  • Develop strategies and lead execution to drive the companys digital advertising efforts around search, display, social media, influencer outreach, and podcast outreach.
  • Manage relationship with digital agency to stay on goal, ensure flexibility, optimal use of budget and prompt adjustments.
  • Manage SEO/SEM strategies
  • Develop, implement, test, and analyze programs that drive new sources of traffic including organic, social media, communities, etc.
  • Track and monitor site traffic and optimize campaigns based on the best-performing strategies
  • Manage relationships with agencies to deliver digital campaigns that include cross-channel attribution, online interactive ads, mobile optimization, and new media deliverables.
  • Drive new business and revenue through optimizing website content to ensure search engine visibility and favorable user experience
  • Become the subject matter expert on the lead gen component of the companys social media presence including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and emerging technologies. We need a geek that loves this space and wants to explore.
  • Manage strategy of website development for lead acquisition.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and execute on multi-touch campaigns for demand generation, client acquisition as well as overall awareness.
  • Optimize email and online marketing campaign performance.
  • Drive the development of tools, processes, and framework to ensure operational compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other marketing team member in the development of newsletter and email communications to increase customer engagement & retention, up-sell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Track performance relative to targets and continually act to optimize results
  • Manage web development and hosting vendors


  • Bachelors degree ideally in business, marketing, communications, computer science or related field. MBA (or other advanced, relevant education) is a plus.
  • 10+ years of digital marketing leadership experience either at an agency or in-house for a brand.
  • At least 5 managing lead generation programs, digital campaign marketing, and marketing operations in a B2B high growth company
  • Thought leader in digital marketing strategy and tactics to drive conversion, deep understanding of synergies between SEO, online media, lead generation, social media, Other Inbound Marketing Tactics, Website Design/Development, UI/UX, Email Marketing, and more.
  • Track record of successful marketing campaign development and execution on a national basis with a clear ROI model across program investments (CPL, CPA and LTV)
  • Advanced understanding of Google analytics (and other analytics tools) with the ability to report on data and make recommendations for iterating marketing and campaign strategy for continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of website optimization approaches including A/B testing
  • Program/project management, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with large data bases of numeric and statistical data to fully understand current and projected demographic changes, population shifts, and economic forecasts.
  • An ability to manage workload and projects to deliver in a timely manner
  • Experience in a professional membership organization a plus
  • Demonstrated experience and success in integration of technology as a critical management tool.
  • Experience creating KPIs for tracking and reporting metrics.
