The Role: Client Service Manager

Location: Hybrid – Austin, Texas

The Role

Our client is seeking a personable and motivated Client Service Manager to join their team. The CSM position is responsible for working with the firm’s retirement plan clients to maximize the effectiveness of the retirement plan (mostly 401(k) plans) for the benefit of their employees. The ideal candidate is eager to provide outstanding service, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.


  • Advise on retirement plan investment, plan design and employee financial wellness strategies
  • Develop and present client planning and investment review meetings
  • Anticipate and assess clients’ needs and manage complex client relationships
  • Establish and maintain strong, sustainable client relationships
  • Assist in presenting prospect proposals and responding to requests for proposal
  • Present participant educational meetings and webinars
  • Manage client communications and act as liaison with clients’ other providers and advisors (i.e., retirement plan recordkeepers, TPAs, auditors, attorneys)
  • Assist with implementation and service tasks for clients, including obtaining competitive bids, creation of proposals and investment reviews
  • Respond to client requests for assistance


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Retirement plan industry experience preferred but not required
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses beneficial; required within the first two years of employment
  • Understanding of retirement plan design and compliance-related issues, knowledge of fiduciary responsibilities, and familiarity with retirement plan administration a plus
  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects for multiple clients, with competing priorities and extreme attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Envestment and Salesforce is a plus
  • Excellent growth potential in a booming industry with opportunity for advancement to Relationship Manager
