The Role

The Vice President of Finance will be an integral member of the leadership team evaluating and forecasting the company' s operating and financial performance in relation to its strategy, supporting senior management decision making, executing key strategic initiatives, and improving the financial performance of the organization.  This is a true “ hands-on” role with a high level of visibility throughout the organization.  The successful candidate will be able to grasp big-picture business issues and be comfortable moving from the strategic mindset of business planning to the tactical mindset of analyzing business performance at the line-item level. 

  • Maintain fiscal integrity and drive efficient accounting processes
  • Establish and improve data-driven decision capabilities to support key business initiatives
  • Produce accurate, consistent, relevant and timely reporting, leading preparation of monthly financial reporting package for the Board
  • Research, design, create and maintain economic decision models including product line profitability, location profitability, and trend analysis
  • Achieve high levels of fixed cost efficiency so that resources can be shifted to decision analysis
  • Design, prepare and maintain dashboard of financial and operational KPIs
  • Lead the process to develop accurate and dependable forecasts & budgets
  • Manage an accurate, rolling Cash Forecast Model
  • Maximize cash cycle, manage A/R and A/P days, establish and maintain review credit policies
  • Ensure proper financial controls are in place, oversee expenditure authorizations and credit approvals 
  • Maintain the balance sheet registers and financial metrics
  • Invest in improving accounting and finance processes and systems to drive scalability
  • Lead the design of ad-hoc and recurring analysis as needed to support business decisions
  • Maintain the balance sheet registers and financial metrics
  • Supervise payables, receivables, payroll, facilities, and benefits administration functions
  • Lead current staff of two direct reports
  • Determine the short- and long-term capital structure needed to finance the company' s strategy and sustain its growth; raise debt and equity financing; maintain all financial relationships and monitor the company' s cost of capital

  • 8-10 years of experience, preferably in CPG or manufacturing
  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred
  • Prior experience working in a fast-growth, entrepreneurial organization
  • Proven track record of providing accurate, timely and substantive information to the Board of Directors that drives decision-making
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading small teams and leading improvement initiatives
  • Experience interfacing and partnering with lenders
