The Role:  Regional Sales Manager Location:  Mid-Atlantic Region
The Role

We are seeking a strong sales leader for an exciting regional sales manager position with a growing company. The regional sales manager will set for the strategy and direction for the region and manage a strong remote team. Our ideal candidate combines excellent communication and leadership skills with a strategic mindset. This role reports to the VP of Sales and Marketing and does involve extensive travel in the mid-atlantic region.

  • Evaluate and set sales objectives on an account basis throughout the territory, and craft territory plans in partnership with sales personnel
  • Drive business growth by discovering new opportunities, clients, and customers
  • Deliver value by forging new strategic relationships and understanding market dynamics/demand
  • Create regional sales plans and quotas in alignment with business objectives; Assigns sales territory to sales representatives
  • Analyze regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth; leveraging CRM reporting and data-driven account plans
  • Increase sales within an existing customer base by identifying competitive advantages surrounding the sale
  • Hire, develop, train and evaluate a team of outside sales representatives and inside sales leaders
  • Influence effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of incredible customer service throughout
  • Meet with key clients, assist sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  • Assist in developing and implementing sales training programs for new associates
  • Educate and produce top selling associates through proven sales principles
  • Organize and execute meetings, events, and special programs for the trade in your region
  • Assist in developing and implementing promotion and rewards system for top selling associates
  • Lead, inspire and drive your salespeople on a daily and weekly basis
  • Ensure sales ride-along evaluations are scheduled, performed, and assessed with employees through observing skills/techniques first-hand on a weekly basis
  • Achieve, log and perform personal and departmental written objectives as provided or determined throughout the fiscal year
  • Implementation of channel marketing special events/events/promotions
  • Work closely with operations to forecast demand (SIOP) and understand inventory
  • Attend national and local trade events

  • Bachelor’ s degree or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years’ experience in sales, 10+ as a regional sales manager
  • Stone or building construction products industry experience highly preferred
  • Sales leadership in a distribution business highly preferred
  • History of developing sales and representatives in a region or territory
  • Strategic sales, meaning product/market development through sales and fulfillment
  • Business development experience meaning developing new customers and markets
  • Experience with CRM as a sales tool (Salesforce, etc.)
  • Data analytics in a regional role to identify opportunities in the market
  • Must have a detailed, curious, problem-solver orientation, with experience solving client challenges
  • Proven track record developing team members
  • Working knowledge of managing through KPI’ s and scorecards
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills
  • Must be self-driven, personable, social, and have a positive attitude
  • Must be able to think strategically and work autonomously
  • Direct, assertive, fearless and ready for the challenge
  • Must be passionate, highly driven and highly motivated to help us get to the next level
  • Must have a valid driver’ s license and be able to be insured through company insurance
