HireBetter’s client is one of the largest and most established public adjusting firms in the Western United States and Canada, committed to guiding policyholders through the complexities of insurance claims.

The Role

We are seeking a confident, emotionally intelligent Outside Sales Professional to serve as the first point of contact for residential and commercial property owners after significant property losses (typically $500K–$10M+). This role is 100% outside sales—highly proactive, door-to-door, and ideal for a competitive self-starter who thrives on building trust quickly in high-stakes, emotionally charged situations.

You will be backed by a strong brand, daily warm leads, and a seasoned team of closers, estimators, and claims experts. Your mission: secure signed representation agreements that allow us to advocate for policyholders and help them rebuild their lives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct On-Site Engagements: Visit damaged properties shortly after loss events; qualify prospects and decide on engagement opportunities.
  • Build Trust Fast: Establish rapport with homeowners, executives, attorneys, and other decision-makers in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
  • Close High-Value Agreements: Lead consultative sales conversations that result in five- to six-figure representation agreements.
  • Navigate Competitive Markets: Compete effectively against contractors, brokers, carriers, and other public adjusters.
  • Simplify Complexity: Translate complicated insurance policy language into clear, actionable strategies for clients.
  • Act as Advisor: Stay engaged with clients from initial contact through to claim resolution, supported by the internal claims and estimating team.
  • Leverage Company Resources: Utilize daily warm leads, marketing materials, and closers to maximize efficiency.
  • Travel Throughout Territory: Cover the Bay Area and occasionally beyond (as far as Fresno, Redding, and Reno; flights to other states once performance warrants).

Qualifications

Professional Background:

  • Proven outside sales success, ideally but not limited in construction, restoration, remediation, or insurance-related industries.
  • Experience engaging with property owners, facility managers, and executives.
  • Familiarity with the insurance claims process or property loss scenarios is a plus (training provided).

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills; able to navigate multi-stakeholder decisions.

Other Requirements:

  • Must live in Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Santa Clara counties.
  • Driver’s license and ability to travel extensively by car.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours when needed.
