The Vice President of Finance will be an integral piece of the leadership team executing key initiatives while developing a long-term strategy and improving the financial performance of the organization.  This is a true “ hands-on” opportunity with a high level of visibility driving efficient, high quality accounting.    The successful candidate will be able to grasp the big-picture and business-wide issues while being comfortable moving from the strategic mindset of business planning to the tactical mindset of analyzing business performance at the line-item level. 
  • Maintain fiscal integrity and high-quality accounting processes: no material mistakes or audit adjustments.
  • Establish and improve data-driven decision capabilities to support key business initiatives.
  • Produce accurate, consistent, relevant and timely reporting, to include leading preparation of monthly financial reporting package for the Board.
  • Manage audit-related processes and drive quality of internal financial data.
  • Work with audit firm to optimize tax issues.
  • Research, design, create and maintain economic decision models, to include but not limited to: product and service line profitability, customer and project-level profitability, location profitability and trend analysis.
  • Achieve high levels of fixed cost efficiency so that resources can be shifted to decision analysis.
  • Adjust the chart of accounts to facilitate more segmented financial reporting.
  • Design, prepare and maintain dashboard of financial and operational KPIs.
  • Lead the process to develop accurate and dependable forecasts & budgets.
  • Manage an accurate, rolling Cash Forecast Model.
  • Maximize cash cycle, manage A/R and A/P days, establish and maintain review credit policies.
  • Ensure proper financial controls are in place, oversee expenditure authorizations and credit approvals. 
  • Maintain the balance sheet registers and financial metrics.
  • Invest in improving accounting and finance processes and systems to drive scalability.
  • Optimize the monthly closing process.
  • Adjust the chart of accounts to facilitate more segmented financial reporting.
  • Assess capabilities and limitations of current accounting systems and work closely with third-parties and internal team to improve them.
  • Lead the design of ad-hoc and recurring analysis as needed to support business decisions.
  • Maintain the balance sheet registers and financial metrics.
  • Supervise payables, receivables, payroll, facilities, and benefits administration functions.
  • Lead current finance staff of two direct reports and five indirect reports. 
  • Manage third-party service provider relationships such as: lenders, audit partners, software vendors, health insurance and benefits administrators, and insurance brokers and carriers.

  • Undergraduate degree and CPA required.  Advanced degree, such as an MBA, is highly desirable.  CFA (I, II or III) is a plus.
  • Strong preference for 2 or more years public accounting experience.
  • Strong preference for prior experience working in rapidly scaling organizations and/or in a private equity portfolio company environment.
  • Successful candidates will be process and detail oriented, possessing a desire to be hands-on and drive change as systems and processes are built out to support greater scale.
  • Demonstrated depth of experience with GAAP financial accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing A/R, A/P, treasury, monthly close, and payroll.
  • Experience processing and filing corporate tax returns is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP/GL systems.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading small teams and leading improvement initiatives.
