The Role

Hirebetter’ s client is seeking an experienced vice president and head of product to lead the company’ s product development and roadmap efforts. Reporting to the CEO, this role is focused on overseeing the development and management of the company’ s innovation, technology, usability design and engineering prioritization to accommodate the company’ s strategic vision and business goals. As a member of the executive team, this role will work cross-functionally across the organization to ensure alignment with operations, engineering, design, marketing, sales and other departments.

  • Provide vision and strategy for product’ s development alongside company leadership
  • Define and lead the long-term product strategy and roadmap that is consistent with the company’ s overall business growth strategy
  • Establish product management as a core competency of the company
  • Establish best practices for quality assurance, user testing and feedback loops
  • Take full ownership and accountability of product position and determine key features required for short, medium and long markets served
  • Establish and forecast ROI of features and succinctly articulate competitive advantage
  • Manage product team’ s P&L
  • Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, design, sales, marketing and other departments to bring new features and functionality to market
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities and prioritize features, understand and validate end-user go-to-market opportunities to assist in prioritization of product launches
  • Lead and develop the product management, usability design and technical support teams to support and prioritize the development of new features and functionality of the product and ensure end users have technical support issues addressed
  • Recruit new strategic team members as needed to appropriately support the company’ s roadmap and timelines
  • Identify new product and technology opportunities and oversee planning
  • Resolve strategic challenges and ensure the team’ s ability to meet product financial, strategic and technical goals
  • Field new product feature requests, priorities and third-party opportunities and articulate options for CEO and executive prioritization

  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science required
  • Master’ s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive product management experience
  • Strong analytical acumen and a drive to make data-driven strategies and decisions
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian, G-suite, AWS, Microsoft Office, Aha, Mixpanel, Amplitude or related solutions necessary
  • Ability to build and articulate forward-facing business and product strategies to a broad audience required
  • Experience with mobile applications, and/or digital SaaS platforms required
  • Previous healthcare technology experience a plus
  • Project/program management for successful start-ups or mid-to-large size enterprise preferability in healthcare, retail consumer markets
  • Demonstrated success creating and releasing a product from scratch
  • Versed in the application of design thinking and lean start up principles
  • Experience working in a lean start-up environment
  • Leadership experience at the executive level
  • Ability to work across the organization to provide leadership and prioritization
  • Must be a highly strategic thinker, capable of being the lead product visionary
  • Experience managing products in an Agile development environment
  • Ability to articulate product vision to internal and external stakeholders, clients, and users
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • 15% travel nationally; some international travel may be required
