The Role

We are currently searching for a Cost Accounting Manager for a quickly expanding publicly traded Austin based company. The Cost Accounting Manager will report to the North America Controller and will be responsible for accuracy of Inventory and COGS in ERP System and related processes, including month-end close and ad hoc reporting. A successful candidate will also help drive and implement key process improvements and system implementations.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize and direct all activities of the Cost Accounting function
  • Work closely with team to ensure all raw material and manufacturing invoices are processed accurately, solving any discrepancies in price and quantity variances
  • Partner with team frequently to maintain accurate finished goods and raw material inventory levels
  • Assist with maintenance of finished goods and raw material purchase price as well as conducting weekly reviews to confirm ERP system is up to date for all production units and item receipts
  • Support customer service team by researching errors and discrepancies
  • Weekly finished goods and raw materials true-up including adjustments to inventory as well as discrepancies
  • Support Month / Quarter End Close including review of inventory detail
  • Responsible for inventory reconciliation and reporting including tie out of general ledger to detail
  • Posting all month-end journal entries
  • Analyze, explain and cost analysis for material, labor and overhead costs in order to identify areas for improvement
  • Assist in maintaining dashboard analytics for operations team and CFO-level cost and inventory data

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in accounting or finance, CPA a plus
  • 5 – 7 years of experience required, preferably in a  manufacturing environment
  • 1 – 2 years’ hands on inventory experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
