The Role

Our client is an early stage growth company that is seeking a Retail Sales Account manager to work closely with the VP of Sales to build out the retail sales effort for the company. Duties include leading the sales effort for the .com buying divisions of existing and new retail business partners. In addition, you will directly manage merchandising, both in-store and online, and manage 3rd party relationships with in-store demonstration companies in support of large national retail programs. This position will work directly with the sales and marketing teams, reports directly to the VP of Sales and will be an instrumental part of the next phase of retail growth with a newly launched brand.

Responsibilities
  • Managing retail buying relationships with online retail buying departments
  • Support large national retail account programs by managing and executing all retail in-store and on-line marketing activities that improve in-store execution and sales performance
  • Marketing activities include, but not limited to ensuring retail & sales demonstrators are educated & trained on the product, product merchandise is prominently displayed, and product is being demonstrated and used in-store
  • Directly manage relationships with 3rd party sales demonstration companies and retailer teams
  • Work with the VP of Sales to develop & manage rolling quarterly marketing plans for in-store and online merchandising and monthly calendar by retailer
  • Manage and communicate the return on investment of co-op or marketing spending based on the sell-through performance
  • Develop, analyze, and distribute weekly sell-thru reporting
  • Make recommendations and execute sales tactics to exceed sales goals
  • Monitor and report back on competitive landscape and make program recommendations based on research and insights learned
  • Travel up to 35% of the time that includes industry events, trade shows, visits to Dallas office and retail corporate office visits, and schedule appointments with retail buyers

Qualifications
  • Four or more years of related experience in sales, marketing, project management of regional or national retail accounts
  • Prefer experience having worked with retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Costco, QVC, HSN, Whole Foods, Dicks Sporting Goods, to name a few
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Experience interfacing and managing relationships with retail buyers, managing online content and merchandising, creating, developing retail buyer presentations
  • Proven ability at managing in-store programs that elevate brand/ product position and drive sales conversion in-store and online
  • Ability to organize, facilitate, communicate and present information effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Ability to work within specific timeframes to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) required
  • BA/BS in business or related field required
